GCG EVENT PARTNERS NEWSLETTER
WINTER 2019
The conclusion of one year and the promise of a new one; which one excites you more? I guess it all depends on how last year went and what you are planning now. Consider yourself fortunate if both concepts excite you. At GCG, we appreciate this time of year so that we can do two important things. First and foremost, we like to thank you. It’s customers like you, past, present and future who allow us to keep doing what we love, so thank you! We also like to reflect on the past while we prepare our guide for the future. As we look back this year, we wish a heartfelt congratulations to our Founder and President, Lori Gershaw. 2019 marks 30 years since Lori opened her first business in the meeting and event industry and her guidance has brought us to where we are today. Congratulations Lori, and thank you for bringing us along on the ride. We look forward to GCG’s continued success in 2019 and beyond.

It’s great to reflect and look back, however, what about looking ahead? In a break from our typical format here, we want to share some industry-related articles from outside the world of GCG. We hope you find them to be a useful resource as you are planning for the upcoming year. We start with 8 Tech Innovations for 2019 by Michael J. Shapiro.
Next let’s take a look at 19 Event Trends That Will Shake Up Meetings & Group Business in 2019 brought to us by Social Tables. They see the industry taking many exciting turns as it becomes more modernized.
Now let’s hear a positive perspective from Danalynne Wheeler Menegus who shares insight on how the Meeting & Event Future Trends Report Predicts 2019 Market Increase. If all holds true, the future is bright and we are looking forward to working with you through all of it.
We’ve been looking ahead at 2019 so far, but let’s take a moment to look back. Here is a blog written in 2013, but it’s message still rings true today. Without happy customers, there is no way any of us can be successful this year. Here are 5 Keys to Exceptional Customer Service.
As we mentioned, 2019 marks the 30th year that Lori Gershaw has been making her incredible mark on the meeting and event industry. Please take a moment and read about the path she took to get where she is today. Are you a 30-year industry vet? We always love hearing from accomplished professionals and value your insights. Share your story and experiences working in the trenches with us at: info@gcgeventpartners.com. We are looking for industry perspectives to share on our blog.
